AMAT Sigmameltec MRC 9000 Mask Wet Cleaner

Overview:

An Applied Materials semiconductor shipped in 2022 arrived with damage to its plastic housing. Of the seven crates, two (containing the Wet Clean Unit and the Chemical Supply Unit) had cracked plastic shells. The only issue known to the piece is

the cracked shell.

Inspection Findings:

• All crates appeared visually undamaged; however, the shock indicator on Crate 2 showed slight discoloration.

• Visual inspections of internal components (tanks, pipes, mass flow instruments, handling

robots) showed no evidence of damage.

• In the Chemical Supply Unit, a filter was found dislodged, but no further visible damage was noted.

Current Status:

• The semiconductor has never been attempted to power on and remains stored at a

semiconductor facility. Once there was damage noticed the claim initiated and the unit has been in storage ever since.

• Applied Materials removed the warranty following the claim, but visual checks suggest the equipment would operate correctly.
